Question: Do you know how to ……? Can you….? How do you…..? What do you do when you…? If I need to can I..?
Answer: Yes, you have to… Yes, I can…..Well you need to…. Well first you have to …. Yes, all you have to do is….
Gosh …..what ever happened to the word “NO”? A plain and simple two letter word, say it with me NO!! There you go that’s how you do it. lol … OK OK, if you’re busy like me then this is how your week goes. You’re so busy as an administrator or support to your job or church staff that you have to be extremely multifaceted or as I have been called” A Jack of All trades, Master of none”.
You get so many inquires ,suggestions, thoughts and ideas that your head starts to spin. When I was 20yrs old my pastor stopped me and he said, ” You can get so busy doing the things in God that you forget to do things for God” At that time I said “wow , you’re so right pastor I’ll remember this as I get more involved with church”, to make him think he just said something profound. At that time it was just more words from pastor that I didn’t stop to think of how it correlates to my present life. But was I ever wrong, a few years ago I was in my church office with piles of paperwork and file folders full of request and documents to send off and I got so overwhelmed.
As I looked down at the mountain on my desk I stood up and walked out of my side door into the sanctuary to just clear my head. I sat down on one of the pews and out of nowhere I hear ” You can get so busy doing the things in God that you forget to do things for God” . I thought wow that really was profound. So I got up an called my old pastor from my church back home and we talked about my struggles with being an administrator and just being able to serve in a christian work place and somehow trying to be able to receive spiritual growth and guidance in the same place.
As we talked more I realized that this is an ongoing struggle for those of us who work in churches . When do we have time to spiritually grow and worship without feeling like you’re at work? How can you just leave work at the office when you’re suppose to take your spirituality and faith with you? or better yet, how can you separate your internal work struggles ( and yes we all have them… be honest if there is no struggle is there really a growing ministry ?) with your own spiritual growth needs without letting what you know internally affect your ability to worship?
” You can get so busy doing the things in God that you forget to do things for God”

This means that just because you’re doing things that have God’s named attached to it or has an attachment to a church or ministry doesn’t really mean you’re being affective in the kingdom.
- 2 Corinthians 5:10
10For we must all appear and be revealed as we are before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive [his pay] according to what he has done in the body, whether good or evil [considering what his purpose and motive have been, and what he has achieved, been busy with, and given himself and his attention to accomplishing]. (Amplified Version)
