Is There a Season For Giving?
Matthew 9:36 – 38 When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
In the world we live in, we never stop seeing the needs of people living in unfortunate circumstances. The harvest is always ready. Even though Christmas has past, there is still so much that needs to be done. So many more needs that must be filled. I challenge you to think creatively. To use the gifts, talents, and resources that God has given you. What has God enabled you to do and how can you use that skill to help others? Can you help someone find a job? Fix someone’s car? Help build a house? Assist in a medical clinic? Give love to motherless children? Donate those clothes and toys that haven’t seen the light of day for a year?
There is a calling on your life and it is so much greater than what you can see or imagine. The impact that you can make in this world will go beyond what you will immediately see. Make the “season for giving” last the entire year.
