Give A Little, Get A Lot

When we serve, God uses us to show His love. The bonus is that we get blessed too! Our “Meet The Need Monday” blog tells a story every week of how our loving Father works through our efforts. And He surprises us sometimes by giving us a bonus glimpse of the big picture.

“We had a great time serving the Lord through Feed The Bay. My kids & I were happy to work in the truck sorting food and loading boxes for our second year. My cousins came along with us this year because they wanted to earn volunteer hours for their High School. They have never had any experience with church before, and this Sunday, they had the opportunity to not only attend church with our family, but also participate in Feed The Bay. It is amazing how The Lord used the volunteer hours to start speaking to their hearts. They both told me they had a great time. They also went on to say, originally they only signed up because of the hours, but they felt really good about what they were involved with and want to do it again next year. We continue to pray for their salvation, but in the meantime, a seed has been planted. I am thankful to all who organized Feed The Bay because not only are we ministering to those who receive the food, we also are ministering to those who may not know the Lord, but are willing to volunteer, shop, and be a part of an Awesome Event!” – Tracey, Riverview

A Story to Tell

Posted on November 29th, 2010 by TNichols

When you give, there is a story to tell and you inspire others by sharing your experience.

“What a great day!!! There was so much food and much needed… We had fun working together with other churches and volunteers. What a blessing to see so many people come together for a common cause. Thank you everyone who took part… Thank you JESUS !!!!”  – Jake

What story will you share when you are out serving those in need? The impact of your service goes beyond that can of donated food, those boxes that were packed, or meal that was served. These stories of giving represent lives that are changed. And there are thousands more lives that need changing today. Yours just might be one of them.

We love to hear from you, the Hands and Feet of Christ!

“Extremely satisfying experience!!! Met wonderful people from several Brandon churches all working together for the same wonderful ministry–Feed the Bay! Further, we found it amazing how generous people are–many brought full cartloads of groceries to donate. However, whether it was one can or an entire cart, every donation was appreciated!! Thank you for the wonderful opportunity to help.” –Robert

It is so encouraging to hear the testimony of the people who serve those in need because of God’s love working in them. Not only do we shine Light into the darkness but that Light is reflected back to us in a glorious way.
